The Secret of NIMH was a massive part of my childhood.  It turned me on to fantasy, and taught me what is still one of my favorite songs.

Star Wars, Return of the Jedi, original art by Ralph McQuarrie.

First two pictures shows Jabba the Hutt’s Palace from “Return of the Jedi” (ROTJ): matte painting of Jabba’s palace on Tatooine. McQuarrie worked on several concepts for Jabba’s palace, including some that had a very oriental flavor. However, the design shown here is the one used in the movie.

Third picture shows “Bantha Expressway”. This is the main entrance to Jabba’s Palace. Dignitaries from around the galaxy who wished to see the mighty Jabba would enter through these impressive gates. In ROTJ, C-3PO and R2-D2 are actually knocking on essentially a “service entrance” located on back of the great palace.

Last picture shows original concept for Jabba the Hutt.
